During early mornings of Valentine’s day, constituents of Puerto Princesa gathers in a beach in Barangay San Jose to plant mangroves along the shore to preserve the marine ecosystem, probably the marine counterpart of the Pista Y ang Kagueban

Balayong Festival Palawan

Late Feb 〜 Early Mar

Festival celebrating the founding anniversary of the City of Puerto Princesa when on 4 March 1872 Spanish colonizers sailed the coastline looking for a place to establish a capital. The highlight of the anniversary festival is the balayong tree-planting, street dancing, and floral parade remembering the Palawan Cherry Blossoms. The one-week festival has various cultural events and sporting activities, and culminates in the crowning of Ms. Puerto Princesa.

Kulambo Festival, El Nido

March 15 to 18th

The top attraction during this event is the creative costumes of the participants of the street parade who utilized the use of kulambo, which is also known as mosquito nets, in their attire. While this fiesta is marked by dancing, singing and large gatherings and presentation of various types of delicacies.

Kamarikutan Pagdiwata Arts Festival

1st Week of April (before or after holy week )

The Pagdiwata Arts Festival features varied week-long workshops in the different arts, painting in different media, sculpture, music, dance and film. Art exhibits, art forums, and film showing fill the afternoon, with stage performances and concerts in the evenings.

The festival takes inspiration from the Tagbanua's Pagdiwata ritual of the thanksgiving - a thanksgiving for a bountiful harvest of creativity. It is hosted by Kamarikutan Kape Galeri as a way of sharing the sublimity of the arts with the community.

Seafood Festival Puerto Princesa

3rd Week of April

A celebration of the bounties of the seas, this gastronomic festival offers a taste of seafood specialties Palawan is known for.

Puerto Princesa restaurants prepare a mixture of authentic Palawan seafood cuisine and delicacies, as well as other contemporary seafood-filled culinary delights in the region. The food fest is enjoyed with cultural shows and bundles of give aways.

Pasinggatan Festival

May 1st to 4th

This festivity, the fondness of Filipinos when it comes to singing and dancing are being highlighted. Although it is done in Taytay, this fiesta is a celebration of the entire culture of the Philippines..

Singing and dancing are two of the Filipino’s favorite pastimes, and this can be seen in the Pasinggatan Festival, Showcasing Filipino songs and folk dances, there are programs displaying the best in local handicraft skills and other works.

Pista Y Ang Kagueban

3rd Week of June

The first Pista Y Ang Kagueban was held in June 1991. It was in that same year the United Nations declared the month of June as Environment Month. With little anticipation, the activity turned out to be an enormous success beyond expectations in two years.

The Pista Y Ang Kagueban (Feast of the Forest) is a festive reforestation activity of the Irawan Watershed in Barangay Inagawan. This watershed is the source of potable water for the whole city. During this feast, citizens of Puerto Princesa City and guests plant thousands of different tree species in the city’s denuded forest zones. Aside from the tree-planting activities, there are also eco-camping, games and contests, and performances by environmental artists.

Baragatan Sa Palawan

3rd Week of June

Baragatan sa Palawan is a week-long celebration of the founding anniversary of the civil government of the province of Palawan, thus, showcasing its rich history, culture, with an extravaganza of music, dances, handicrafts, and gastronomic products and the life of the people who have long inhabited the area.

locals from all over Palawan gather at the City of Puerto Princesa where the Provincial Capitol is and celebrates the anniversary of the world’s best island. This week-long event commonly opens with a Eucharistic Celebration, a ribbon-cutting ceremony, and a grand parade where colorful floats, perfectly choreographed street dances, and angelic voices usher the guests and tourists to a festive week that is ahead of them.

Cuyonon Festival

August 5th

Some of the contests are Cuyonon vlogging, Pinondo-pondo dancing competition, Birso, and Kaansianuan Nga Mga Ati.  There will be a Cuyonon mass, a parade, a program at Mendoza Park, and a mall tour.  They are also inviting all residents of the city to participate in the contests and activities during the festival. 

During the Cuyo Fiesta, guests will be able to feast their eyes with colorful parades, dance performances, musical shows, and re-enactment of San Agustin’s confrontation with the natives. The highlights of the Cuyo Fiesta are the Ati Dances where the participants cover their faces with soot and painting their faces with anyel (indigo) and then wear a colorful headgear made of coconut fiber and chicken feathers, and costumes adorned with coconut leaves.

The men carry spears and bow and arrows; while the women, their necks adorned with native bead necklaces, carry baskets. This elaborate dance consists of the men lined on one side of the street and the women on the other; and both lines do a lively dance mix of hops, jumps, and sways while chanting. Amidst all this merrymaking, there is a dancing clown who chases the women amidst their shrieks and laughter; and he only ceases the chase when coins are thrown at him.

kasadyaan Festival

August 8th

Coron local government officials are inviting the public to join their annual socio-cultural celebration  Kasadyaan Festival which honors the traditions and life of their people. It is celebrated through cultural presentations, sports events, and other activities. A dance competition is held during the last day of the festival where barangay teams in Coron will compete against each other. This festival is a thanksgiving celebration for all the blessings received in honor of our Patron Saint, San Agustin.

Cuyo Fiesta

August 28th

Their celebration is somewhat similar to the Ati-Atihan Festival. Those who participate in this event blacken their skin and would usually dance in complete abandonment to the musical beat of the drums. Cuyo is a small island town that is rich in cultural heritage which becomes more evident when the town celebrates its annual feast.

Anihan Festival Or Palay Festival

Last Week of October

ThAnihan Festival which is now known as the Palay Festival is one of the most famous festivals in Narra, where the products of the municipality are being showcased.

Narra is dubbed as the “Rice Granary of Palawan” and the Palay Festival is the people of Narra’s way of thanksgiving for the bountiful harvest.

Baywalk Christmas Tree

December 1st.

The Christmas season is that time of the year when Puerto Princesa Baywalk in Palawan transforms into a night celebrating the Christmas holiday season. Attracting crowds for the nightly festivities, shopping stalls and food kiosks, all unfolding around the 100-foot Christmas tree in Puerto Princesa, making the city extra lively since the peak of the yuletide season from December 1st.

The month of December not only kick-starts the peak of the Christmas season for the people of Puerto Princesa, but also signals the giant Christmas tree lighting, which is the most anticipated yuletide event in the city. On the first day of this month, thousands come to the Puerto Princesa City Baywalk to witness the Christmas tree’s annual lighting set at 7 PM. The ceremonial switch-on, led by the city mayor alongside other officials, took place after a series of performances from various groups

Feast Of The Immaculate Conception

December 8th

The feast of the Virgin Mary which is also observed in other parts of the Philippines continues until the New Year and is marked by series of nightly parades and processions of the Virgin Mary.

The Feast of the Immaculate Conception, is commended with specific consideration and function in the Philippine Catholic Church. Filipino Catholics have a particularly solid dedication to Mary. Significance of feast is Belief in the most pure and sinless conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary without Original Sin. It is celebrated with Festive pageantry, grand fireworks, cultural dancing religious and military processions, ethnic food and costumes. Under the title of the Immaculate Conception, she was pronounced Patroness of the Philippines in 1942. The Feast of the Immaculate Conception means that Mary, from the snapshot of her origination, was free from unique sin. Aficionados ascribe numerous supernatural occurrences to her. Holy places all through the islands praise the devour with unique dedication, however Malolos Cathedral, otherwise called the Minor Basilica of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception, goes to specific lengths to commend the devour of its patroness.
